It's like Iceland all over again

What started off as an exciting boat trip and continued with an idyllic ride through the rain forest quickly turned into the most exhausting cycling day of our lives. We had previously thought that the 55 kilometers we did on Iceland in freezing rain and incredibly hard head wind would remain as the low point (or high point, as we did make it to our destination that day) of our cycling career, but the 34 kilometers on dusty sand roads, pushing our bikes uphill in the scorching heat, quickly running out of water which was too warm to drink anyway, were something we had never experienced before. But we did make it once again, maybe not as far as we had planned, but at least we didn't collapse by the road or call a 4WD taxi. And tomorrow we'll get back on the bikes and continue, maybe faster, maybe slower, but never giving up. Unless the roads get even steeper. In that case I don't know if I can make any promises.
