Eek! There's waterdrops in the air!

On our previous visits to Costa Rica we've mostly stayed in the Nicoya Peninsula (and traveled by car and bus) so we were expecting to see new and exciting landscapes when traveling east from the Pacific Coast. But what we didn't expect was the weather to change so quickly one we left the peninsula behind us. We got up early to avoid the midday heat, and enjoyed a cloudy morning with cooler air. But the surprise came when we stopped to eat at Las Canas: raindrops! The light rain came and went, until halfway to Tilaran it turned into a proper shower, complete with heavy rain and goosebumps on our bare arms. For a moment we considered pulling our jackets out of the bags, but that would've been unnecessary, as the sun soon reappeared and dried off our damp clothes. This actually is our favorite cycling weather: not too hot, not too cold, with the fresh scent of rain in the air. We're excited to see if we'll even need to get out those jackets as we travel further inland...
