Some of the roadside sodas (cafés) have surprised us with fresh tortillas, tasty fried beans and ripe avocados, while some have just been depressing fast food joints specialiced in fried chicken. This restaurant, located in the intersection of Interamericana and the road to Nicoya, is specialized in barbeque meat and wouldn't therefore have been our first choice had we not been starving after a morning of cycling in heavy head wind. But what do you know: they don't just serve dead cows but also excellent fruit plates, with fresh pineapple, papaya and watermelon. Together with some very nice ciabatta and juice they formed the perfect breakfast.
And don't even get us started on the bathrooms – clean, pristine, beautifully designed... And providing good tap water for our water bottles.
