What would be a more perfect way to end
a long day than a three-course falafel dinner? The answer is, of
course, getting to make your own falafel. Essence Arenal's
all-vegetarian kitchen lets the guests also get their hands dirty
with some cooking, and tonight we got to mix up spices, chickpeas and
some flour to create some very tasty falafels. The dinner also
included a hot soup to warm up our chilly bellies, and a wonderful
caramelized pumpkin dessert.
So now we lay our heads on the
hypoallergic pillows, straighten our backs on the orthopedic
mattresses and look forward to the morning and our hot showers. (This
has so far been the only establishment we've stayed at that has had
hot showers, which wasn't that bad at all in the hotter areas but
would've been a bit unpleasant on these cooler mountain slopes.)
